The Role:

Medibank is committed to enhancing and maintaining security controls across the organization. We are in search of a skilled Senior Security Operations Engineer with a keen eye for detail and a passion for solving complex problems using cutting-edge security solutions.

As a Senior Security Operations Engineer at Medibank, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our security posture by contributing to the design, implementation, and management of security controls, systems, and processes.

Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Designing, planning, and implementing security solutions.
  • Configuring and managing Security tools like Firewalls, SIEM, and more.
  • Performing regular analysis to improve security posture.
  • Enhancing team knowledge through assignments on emerging threats.
  • Developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures and Incident Response Playbooks.
  • Ensuring compliance with security standards and frameworks.
  • Providing design inputs for security solutions implementation.
  • Participating in on-call security event response.
  • Managing security event data systems.
  • Analyzing events to identify potential threats.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in IT operations, security analysis, or related roles.
  • Experience with cloud-based incident response.
  • Strong understanding of network security and threat analysis.
  • Experience in configuration and management of security tools.
  • Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Perl, and others.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Security-related certifications e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM.
  • Experience with Security Automation and Orchestration (SOAR).
  • Previous involvement in non-security roles.
  • Hands-on experience with endpoint protection technologies.
  • Experience in software development is a plus.
