About the role...Reporting to the Information Security Manager and part of our Group Shared Services function, the Security Engineer is responsible for safeguarding the organisation's critical assets, data, and systems from cyber threats.

You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information by designing, implementing, and managing robust security measures.

As part of this role, you'll manage and design technical security controls such as email security gateways, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention applications, endpoint protection applications.

Your role also involves providing technical input for projects, maintaining secure configurations, ensuring documentation for systems, and researching new security tools and practices.

You'll conduct IT security assessments, coordinate penetration testing and phishing tests, and manage the vulnerability scanning platform.
You'll assist with major security incident coordination, containment, and recovery efforts.
This includes liaising with outsourced security operations centre and maintaining incident response playbooks.

Tertiary qualification in Information Technology and industry certifications focusing on infrastructure, cloud, and security domains such as Microsoft MCSA, Cisco CCNA, and Azure Security Engineer Associate Excellent technical knowledge of identity and access management, cloud, server, and network infrastructure security best practices Demonstrated experience in managing and implementing technologies from security vendors such as Mimecast, Rapid7, Carbon Black, Imperva, and Zscaler Knowledge of cloud best practice frameworks such as the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure and the Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework Good knowledge of ITIL best practice Good knowledge of current trends, practices, and techniques for optimisation of systems and networks
