This company have created a collaborative and innovative work environment, with office across Australia this opportunity would be based in their newly renovated Sydney CBD office.

The Role

Join a leading consultancy as an Associate/Principal Structural Engineer in their Sydney Buildings team. This role is ideal for a seasoned structural design professional with a background in diverse building projects. As part of the team, you'll contribute to a variety of health care, commercial, residential, industrial, and educational developments.

As a key technical and business leader, you'll shape the design and delivery of your projects, showcasing your independence and ability to manage multiple projects at various stages. Beyond your technical acumen, this role invites you to be client-facing, fostering business development, networking, and stakeholder management. The Responsibilities
  • Conduct structural engineering analyses and perform calculations for detailed building design.
  • Support the Structural Team in successfully delivering projects, focusing on timelines, documentation, profitability, technical integrity, risk management, and overall client satisfaction.
  • Offer technical expertise in planning and designing complex structures.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including clients, local authorities, government agencies, and commercial entities.
  • Manage multiple tasks while meeting client expectations and fostering strong, trustworthy relationships with colleagues, both locally and across Stantec's international network.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external project stakeholders to achieve cost-effective, high-quality outcomes.
  • Display extensive technical knowledge and oversee project delivery to ensure successful outcomes.
The Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
  • Demonstrated structural design experience of Buildings, ideally in engineering consultancy.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards
  • Structural software knowledge of RAM Concept and ETABS (essential)
  • Knowledge of building stability analysis and corresponding detailing
  • Business development, client and stakeholder management experience
  • Knowledge and capability across post-tensioned and reinforced concrete, steel and masonry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving mindset with strong interpersonal skills
