Talent Butler is proudly partnering with a major international retail group to recruit a Retail Operations and Facilities Manager based in Canberra.


About the role


Reporting to the Centre Manager, your role will be to oversee the operational success of the Centre covering hard and soft services, maintenance, and procurement of contractors.

The role will be busy and varied, there are few silos or restrictions, instead, you will be empowered to own your role and trusted to make optimum decisions to best serve the operational needs of the retailers and customers.


About you


It is expected that you will have existing experience in Retail property, or shopping centres as a Facilities Manager or operations manager, working for either an owner, an agency or a property fund.

Technical expertise is a must as you may call upon this resource to attend to matters directly.

Key duties

  • Plan and develop operational strategies, changes, policies, and procedures to increase organizational effectiveness and business improvements for the centre.
  • Facilitate and assist with the effective operational delivery of facility services and service delivery outcomes.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on operational issues, opportunities, and achievements, and manage the delivery of portfolio KPIs
  • Assist with the management of the financial operations, including financial reporting, and costing savings.
  • Managing the compliance of all statutory and regulatory requirements of the Facilities Management component.
  • Focus on innovation and continuous improvement, with a focus on technical services excellence, innovation, and operational costefficiency.
  • Working closely and collaborating with the wider centre management team.

Key strengths

  • Experience in a facilities managementrelated discipline ideally with retail property, or similar entertainment attractions,
  • Superior knowledge in Operational and Facilities Management with proven skills in financial management.
  • Confidence and maturity in communication with the ability to build effective relationships
  • Ability to lead and influence, initiating change, resolving performance issues and conflicts with a solutionfocused, clientcentric approach
  • Superior organizational and problemsolving skills with the ability to deliver results effectively
  • Excellent financial acumen, knowing when to question costs and budgets.
