Description:

The Opportunity

We are seeking a team-oriented Property Officer to work for our Specialist Housing Group Team (SHG) based in Melbourne.

The SHG is a unique team of HCA that provides Social Housing for people with Disability or with other special needs with Supported Disability Accommodation funding.

In nutshell the position provides property management and maintenance for the properties we own and manage.
This role is ideal for a person who is community minded and keen support people with disabilities.

If you are from a trades or property maintenance background and seeking a slight career change to work in a more purposeful organization while using your current capabilities - this could be your opportunity.

We will provide you with plenty of training to get you up the speed with industry and working with our clients provided you are willing to learn.

This role is a permanent full
- time role based in Melbourne.

Skills and Experiences:

About You

  • Qualification in a relevant building trade and/or experience in property/asset management
  • Knowledge of Specialist Disability Accommodation or shared housing.
  • Experience in working with disadvantaged communities
  • Highly developed written, oral communication and IT skills and relationship management skills.
  • Welldeveloped problem solving and influencing skills
  • Willingness to travel within Victoria
Desirable

  • Trade qualification and or significant industry experience in the property sector
  • Project Management or home modification experience
  • Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) with an awareness of its impact on social housing.
Experience in managing a sizeable portfolio of properties in the public/community or private housing sector

  • Experience in dealing with complex and challenging client service environments.
