  • Allied Health Assistants provide therapeutic and program related support to Allied Health Professionals (AHP). The AHA is required to conduct therapeutic and program related activities under the guidance of an Allied Health Professional across the Acute, Sub-Acute, Rehabilitation, and Community settings of Colac Area Health and across allied services including Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Social Support services.

What's required?

  • Certificate III or IV Allied Health Assistant; or other equivalent qualification or willing to undertake.
  • Understand the theoretical principles of the work undertaken by all AHPs.
  • Ability to effectively work both independently as well as with a team to deliver care in a variety of settings.
  • Ability to provide care as prescribed.
  • Experience or exposure in facilitating groups within community rehabilitation settings.
  • A philosophy of care that promotes client independence with their health, well being and lifestyle.
  • Ability to work independently and organise own workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and adaptability.
  • Competent with various window based software programs and computer skills.
  • Current Working with Children Check, Police Check, Drivers Licence
