Health Promotion Coordinator

Part Time Maternity Leave position - 30 hours per week commencing 24/7/2023 until 18/7/202- Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.


  • Primary Objectives of this position:
  • Identify and address priority health and wellbeing issues within the Colac Otway Shire and reduce health inequities for the whole population.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate effective health promotion interventions and capacity building strategies that improve health outcomes in the community.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, partner agencies and community to support development, delivery and evaluation of health promotion programs and plans.

What's required?

Bachelor Degree in Health Science with a major in Health Promotion, Bachelor Degree in Health Promotion, Public Health or Population Health, or tertiary qualification in a health related field

Sound knowledge of integrated health promotion theory and practice

Evidence informed work ethic and demonstrated ability to use research to support best practice

Demonstrated capacity to undertake needs assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation

Experience in health promotion activities and/or programs which involve community development concepts

Proven ability to network and build partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders
:

-
Excellent organisational skills, ability to manage competing priorities and adhere to tight deadlines
:

Ability to work independently with limited supervision and work effectively within a small team environment
:

Experience working with diverse communities, organisations and/or consumer groups
:

Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written) and computer literacy

Strong communicator with ability to interact with people at all levels

People focused and demonstrate a flexible and resilient approach in your interactions

Good attention to detail and strong problem solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions to problems in a complex environment

Current Victorian driver's licence
