  • QML Pathology is part of Healius' Pathology division, one of Australia's leading providers of private medical laboratory and pathology services. We operate about 100 medical laboratories and 2,000 patient collection centres across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. Each year, we provide one in every three pathology services in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia's largest and most complex private and public hospitals to small and remote Australian Aboriginal communities.
    About the role
  • A vacancy currently exists for a Parttime Warfarin Consultant within the QML Pathology Warfarin Clinic at Murarrie working 23 days per week, a rotational Saturday shift, and potential for more shifts. The Warfarin Care Clinic is designed to operate as an outpatient Warfarin monitoring service for the organisations referring doctors. This is an opportunity to join a service driven team with an excellent work ethic.
  • We are seeking a caring individual with a nursing, medical background who has a passion for customer service, and an ability to think outside the square using excellent problemsolving skills. The position will cover various shifts between 07.30am and 06:00pm Monday to Friday with rostered weekends and public holidays.
  • We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Answering incoming calls from patients
  • Making outgoing calls to patients and/or their carer to communicate their results and warfarin dose instructions
  • Other discussions will relate to changes to medical history, and/or other medications; discussions with patient pre and post procedures, and hospital admissions
  • Accepting New patients registered into the Warfarin clinic and obtaining a full medical history from doctors and hospitals
  • Liaising with doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, and nursing facilities
  • General administration tasks and managing patient files
