Global Asset Management Co. is seeking a skilled Tax Manager with a focus on Fund Distribution Control and Review. This role is perfect for an experienced Financial and Fund Accountant looking to work on the client side.

Our client, a leading Global Asset Manager, is in need of a Tax Manager to oversee the Tax Accounting and Distribution process for their Australian operations. This permanent position will involve managing external fund administrators responsible for fund accounting tasks for multiple high-value funds.

In this review-oriented role within the fund management sector, the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to enhance their fund accounting expertise in a dynamic environment conducive to career development.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing and reviewing Fund Accounting conducted by external Fund administrators
  • Ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting
  • Coordinating with auditors during tax audits
  • Reviewing and maintaining fund tax profiles and security data for reporting and tax calculations
  • Assisting in project completion, including tax template testing
  • Designing and implementing a fund control framework
  • Performing control checks
  • Verifying the accuracy of unit prices calculated by external administrators
  • Addressing internal and external fund accounting inquiries
  • Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing fund distributions
  • Managing third-party vendors related to the Funds
  • Communicating inquiries to relevant internal departments
  • Generating reports for Funds Management, operation committee, Boards & Management
  • Supporting Account Management and business development activities
  • Assisting with Fund Launches
  • Overseeing various projects for process improvements, procedures, and systems development
Experience/Knowledge:
  • Minimum of 5 years of similar role experience in a Fund Manager, Administrator, or Custodian setting
  • Solid understanding of fund accounting and exposure to various fund structures
  • Experience in supporting/reporting for income/yield-oriented fund types
  • Thorough knowledge of Net Asset Value calculation and asset/security types
  • Expertise in Tax and Trust Distributions process
  • Capability to develop effective control frameworks
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
