STELaRLab is Lockheed Martin's first dedicated multi-disciplinary research lab to be setup outside of the US and conducts research in artificial intelligence, signal and image processing, communication systems and multidomain operations (MDO) to deliver exciting outcomes that advance Australian capability.
About the role:
The GEOINT Senior Research Engineer will perform research/and or product development encompassing multiple engineering or scientific disciplines, including Computer Science, Signal and Image Processing, Analytics, Machine Learning and or other associated disciplines.
For the successful candidate this position could be conducted from Melbourne, Adelaide or Canberra.
Duties will include:
- Execute and supervise R&D projects.
- Design and implement technical solutions.
- Develop and enhance expertise in adjacent strategic technology domains.
- Partner with academia, government and industry where required to complete projects.
Essential skills and experience:
- PhD or equivalent experience plus Tertiary qualifications in a mathematical/scientific discipline from a recognised institute.
- Proven application of specialist technical expertise in R&D.
- Expert professional scientific or engineering experience in GEOINT processing.
- Software development skills in Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar.
Desirable knowledge and experience:
- Skills and expertise in Machine Learning.

Special Requirements:
Applicant must be Australian Citizen as this position will require successful candidate to be eligible to obtain a Commonwealth Defence Clearance at the PV level.
