We currently have a vacancy for a Project Transport & Materials Coordinator - WA to join our Industrial Projects Team based in Bunbury, WA. This person will be based onsite at a client site located in Bunbury, WA. This is a Fixed term - 15-month - full-time position.

Project Transport & Materials Coordinator position requirements:

  • Oversees the transport, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials of capital goods for the mining and energy sector on a procurement line level.
  • Prepare and issues weekly report from Material Management System (MMS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS) as part of deliverables to client.
  • Provide customised freight forwarding solutions to meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Preparation of quotations for domestic freight movements as & when required.
  • Coordination and expedition as necessary from MMS & WMS exception reports of Project freight movements.
  • Maintenance and update of freight movement records on the Tracking System and with shipment record files.
  • Liaise with trucking companies and project clients and contractors in the coordination of freight movements.
  • Strictly control the record keeping of cargo deliveries to the client at relevant handover points.
  • Positively contribute in promoting safe and best practices with regards to HSE compliance within DGF Group, its Clients, Subcontractors and affiliates.
  • Minimise risk exposure through careful planning of work activities, adherence to all internal and external procedures, and identification and reporting of hazards.
  • Help the Project meet strict KPI deadlines without compromising safety standards.
  • Work very closely with Project Manager and other key project team members to ensure project priorities are completed in a timely manner.
  • Supervise all cargo handling requirements for the project. May be implanted in client's depots and/or project site pending project requirement.
  • Ensure cargo handling procedures are compliant with internal HSE processes, Operational procedures and industry best practice.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Minimum three (3) years previous experience in previous/similar roles (mandatory)
  • Strong knowledge of road transport and freight forwarding procedures and regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience with materials & warehouse management systems & processes.
  • Experience with cargo handling / loading restraint procedures, project onedimensional and heavy lift cargo handling procedures.
  • Transport management, risk management and business process experience.
  • Knowledge of HSE disciplines and adherence to DHL and Client compliance requirements.
  • The ability to make safe and responsible decisions yet meet project KPI's and project deadlines.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Sound Analytical skills and Leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and phone etiquette
  • Interpersonal skills, with clear and concise communication skills
  • Commercial awareness & Customer centric
  • Able to work on own initiative and to take responsibility and ownership of initiatives
  • Be result driven and be able to demonstrate strong communication and administration skills with a high degree of attention to detail and a professional work ethic specifically associated with the ability to manage multiple accounts, activities and projects
