Legal Services is led by the General Counsel, Executive Director and comprises the following teams: Enforcement Legal Services, Regulatory Legal Services, Corporate Legal Services, the Hearing Delegates Panel, and the Legal Operations Team.

The Civil Litigation Team within Enforcement Legal Services is expected to couple legal expertise with a contemporary approach to the delivery of legal services, including through the embrace of continual improvement, innovation, building efficient capability and the use of technology to optimise execution.

The role As Special Counsel, Civil Litigation, you will lead one of two Civil Litigation Teams responsible for supporting ASIC's civil, enforcement activities.

This is a key role contributing to the strategic direction and efficacy of ASIC's enforcement activities through:mentoring, leading, and providing strategic guidance through your direct reports to a team of lawyers responsible for the conduct of ASIC's civil enforcement litigationproviding and coordinating independent expert legal advice and tactical guidance to the Commission, Enforcement senior executives in relation to ASIC's civil enforcement litigation.

About you We are looking for someone with demonstrated capacity to lead senior and experienced teams of lawyers across a diversity of areas, particularly in litigation.

You'll need expert knowledge of civil litigation law and procedure, including rules of evidence, along with experience in strategic management of major regulatory litigation.

Demonstrated senior business partnering skills are also essential, with the credibility to operate at all levels and earn the trust of colleagues, along with the ability to negotiate and consult, developing effective partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
