WHAT YOU WILL DO (key responsibilities/duties):
As our Principal Coordinator (External Funding) you will:
- Manage the relationships between DAF and key funding bodies to ensure alignment of key business processes for efficient fund management and communications that provide open exchange of strategic issues and opportunities.
- Manage departmental processes associated with the development, prioritisation, quality assurance, internal endorsement and dispatch of external funding submissions and ensure compliance with departmental and external funding agency protocols.
- Initiate the development of appropriate legal contracts with external funding agencies to accommodate approved work conducted by or on behalf of DAF.
- Review externally developed contracts, including conducting a risk assessment, and liaise with funding agencies, collaborators and DAF legal to address contentious issues identified.
- Manage the execution, disbursement and storage of approved contracts and initiate followon procedures to achieve project commencement. Arrange contract variations when required.
- Oversee project management processes including editing of milestone/progress/final reports, raising tax invoices and providing financial and in[1]kind reports to clients.
- Identify external funding opportunities and communicate these to departmental staff, in particular Directors and Project Leaders.
- Provide highlevel advice to General Managers and Business Unit Management Teams to ensure the management of externally funded projects is consistent with departmental and Queensland Government priorities and policies.
- Manage the Business Unit's corporate performance reporting processes including those for the Agency Service Delivery Statement, the Office of the Chief Scientist and the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
- Promote DAF as a reputable, leading edge research provider with external funding agencies and other collaborators.
