We are looking for multiple skilled Power Worker's (Trade Assistant) to fill permanent opportunities in our Operations – Field Delivery team located across the South East Region. These areas encompass, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane North, Brisbane Central, Brisbane South, Gold Coast and Ipswich Lockyer area.

About your new role:

As a Power Worker (Trade Assistant), you will be a key contributor to the team, assisting our tradespersons with the construction, maintenance, inspection and associated activities on the electrical network throughout Queensland. You will be responsible for a range of duties including general trades assistance, site establishment, site preparation, transport and collection of materials from various job sites and operation of equipment such as lifter/borers, flatbed trucks, forklifts and cranes.

Remuneration starts from $81,688 per annum % superannuation + applicable allowances. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the applicant's knowledge, skills and competencies required in the position.

About you:

This one isn't for the feint hearted. You'll need to be physically capable to carry out manual work - be prepared to get your hands dirty. You'll be working in exposed conditions – the sun, wind, and the rain. There'll be travel involved, meaning at times you'll spend periods of time away from your family and loved ones.

Critical to your success in the role, is your:

  • Current Heavy Rigid (HR) licence or the ability to obtain one prior to commencing.
  • Experience in safety observing and your ability to actively identify and implement risk control measures where needed.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers. You must have the ability to identify and understand customer needs.
  • Current manual 'C' class open driver licence.
  • Availability for call out and emergency work as well as work overtime as required.
  • Willingness to travel to surrounding areas from time to time to undertake work.
  • Ability to safely work at heights.

Desirable:

  • Current High Risk Work Licence (forklift, dogman, rigger, VLC, slewing crane).

Additionally, you will be required to complete a pre-employment medical.
