Position: Children and Young Person's Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA)
Location: Birmingham/hybrid
Hours: Full-time and part-time positions available. Choose from 19 or 30 hours per week, with an option for 1 day of remote work or 38 hours per week with 2 days of remote work.
Salary: Untrained ISVA: £29,777 pro rata, accredited ISVA: £31,365 pro rata
Contract: Permanent

The Role
As an ISVA, you will offer support to children and young people (CYP) who have experienced sexual violence and abuse. This includes providing compassionate and confidential support, especially to those who have faced or are currently facing sexual exploitation. You will guide them through reporting processes, offer emotional support during legal procedures, and provide information on available options such as civil actions.
An accredited ISVA qualification is preferred, but candidates embodying the organization's values and showing a commitment to obtain ISVA accreditation will be considered.
About You
Preferred qualifications include previous experience in a specialized organization dealing with rape and sexual abuse, specifically supporting young victims and survivors.
You should also have experience in:
- Supporting 13-16 year olds vulnerable to sexual violence and exploitation.
- Understanding the impacts of sexual violence and abuse.
- Advocating for survivors and working proactively.
- Collaborating with different agencies.
- Dealing with child safeguarding issues, legislation, and best practices.
- Maintaining detailed records of client interactions.
Remember that when asked for relevant experience, it could be from various settings like school, work, or even hobbies.
