  • We are seeking a

Finance Officer to assist the School Finance Team with a wide variety of administrative and financial tasks to support the financial operations of the school.

  • Under the direction of the Business Manager, you will coordinate financial administration activities and provide support to ensure the school delivers on key reporting deadlines.

The role is responsible for:

  • Supporting the Assistant Business Manager in meeting month/year end reporting obligations;
  • Managing the payables function so that invoices are approved and processed in agreed timeframes;
  • Assisting budget holders with queries relating to their budget including providing timely reports;
  • Receive and deal with inquiries from vendors or staff in matters relating to the payment of school accounts or internal transactions; and
  • Continuously innovate by reviewing systems and processes and recommending improvements in order to streamline the finance functions of the school so that outcomes are improved for staff, students and families
Ideally, you will have previous experience in an accounts or finance role.

You will demonstrate initiative, attention to detail and be a skilful negotiator who is able to liaise with the school's clients with empathy.

Additionally, you will be highly organised and be able to demonstrate sound judgement, confidentiality and discretion.

  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and the BCE finance system, Microsoft Dynamics, is desirable.
To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
