We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services.
This 12 month position is in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at The Alfred, commencing February 2025.The position is designed for applicants who would like additional experience or training in adult cardiac surgery, adult cardiac transplantation, adult and paediatric lung transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.
The position is suited for applicants who have completed their training in cardiothoracic surgery (although they may not necessarily have sat their examination for specialist registration).
Our mechanical circulatory support program uses a variety of different devices, performing approximately VAD implants per year as well as supporting a busy ECMO service.
The successful applicant will be involved in all of these unit activities as well as the unit teaching program and will be expected to take part in unit research activities.
