Ward 4A - Canopy is a 32 bed General and Specialist Medical and Oncology Unit. We are proud to provide holistic care to our patients, relatives and carers.

Clerical staff are essential to the functioning and flow of our ward working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate admissions and discharge planning across the service and eventually home.


About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic ward clerk to join our dynamic team.

You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors both over the phone and face to face.

On accepting this role, you will fast become an integral member of a cohesive team, working closely alongside nursing, medical and allied health staff as well as becoming a point of call for PSAs.

You should have efficient computer skills including knowledge and experience of Monash Health administration systems. Punctuality and professional presentation are important. You will be required to communicate effectively with staff and take a proactive approach to your duties.

About You


You are an experienced clerical staff member wanting to work in a fast paced, dynamic and supportive team under the supervision and delegation of the nurse unit manager.

You have a positive mindset to deliver patient centred care and is focused on seeking opportunities to improve the patient experience through your capacity framework.


Your key responsibilities:

  • Ward clerk duties as described in Monash Health position description
  • Assistance in stores management
- ordering and packing stocks

  • Excellent communication with all members internal and external to 4A Canopy
  • Support and take direction from the Associate Nurse Manager and Nurse Unit Manager
  • Be part of a collaborative & supportive team within a modern, purposebuilt facility
