  • Deliver excellence across maintenance, WHS, & community
  • Join an organisation truly embracing "work to live" culture

Permanent Full-time

We are seeking a dynamic leader to join the Maintenance Services team as Maintenance Supervisor at Australia's largest coal export terminal in the heart of Newcastle. Port Waratah has been receiving, stockpiling, blending, and loading coal for export for over 40 years and pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality, reliable, and agile service for our customers. Our team upholds excellence, integrity, caring and progress, ensuring that every aspect of our operations aligns with these core values.

The Maintenance Services team is responsible for plant reliability, zero harm (people and environment) and identifying and managing operational or maintenance issues. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Supervisor is a dynamic leadership role responsible for leading a collaborative culture focused on delivering excellence across maintenance, health and safety, environment & community, and service delivery for our customers. The role also includes supervision of contractors and breakdown response across a range of portfolios such as industrial plumbing, conveyor belting, rail, fire and structural inspections and repairs.

To be successful, you will have experience in leading trades and contractor teams that execute maintenance work and possess detailed knowledge of safe work supervision. You will be capable of supervising multiple tasks and working with integrated planning and scheduling processes. You will also be competent in utilising computerised asset and maintenance management systems. Leadership experience in a heavy industrial environment is highly regarded as these roles are key leaders of influence in our maintenance execution teams.

We believe in the power of diversity to foster innovation and creativity. Candidates from all backgrounds, cultures, and experiences are encouraged to apply. If you are passionate about making a difference, possess relevant experience and ready to contribute to a dynamic team, we want to hear from you.

At Port Waratah we have a reputation for having high standards when it comes to safety, and in 2021 our CEO signed the Diversity Council of Australia's 'I stand for respect' pledge', committing to ensuring a safe, equal, and inclusive workplace free of discrimination and harassment. Our Work to Live culture means everyone takes a shared responsibility approach to all aspects of our business with team members enjoying a range of benefits including a coastal location close to the Newcastle CBD, competitive remuneration and conditions, onsite gyms, exercise physiologists, recognition program, Employee Assistance Program, and opportunities to participate in community engagement activities.
