About the role This Fixed-term, Part-time 0.5 FTE contract until Oct 2025 (with a possibility of extension) Staff Specialist Palliative Care position can be a Fly in - Fly Out arrangement to Southern LHD with Flights & Accommodation fully covered.
It is primarily based within the Southern NSW Palliative Care Services and if necessary, involves assistance with the delivery of inpatient, outpatient and community clinical palliative care services; implementation of and participation in palliative medicine education, research and quality improvement projects; participation in other activities related to the delivery of excellent palliative care.
Duties include Provide demonstrably high-quality specialist Palliative Care services to patients across Southern NSW LHDTo maintain personal professional competence in Palliative Care To work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff in a cooperative and collegiate way, evidencing the Mission, Motivation and Mission-in-Action of Hammond Care Undertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors, and undertake research in Palliative Care as opportunities present Selection Criteria MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FACh PM) of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia Appropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Palliative Care Medicine Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience Demonstrated ability to work with teams to support and optimize their capacity to deliver services Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement and clinical risk management; actively seek out improvements to service delivery; initiate change and consult those affected by the change; allocate resources and proactively manage potential conflicts Demonstrate participation in ongoing professional development and a commitment to education and research Current Drivers Licence valid within NSWHammond Care is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and inclusion.
