Warrah is a disability services provider, based in North West Sydney.

Inspired by the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, Warrah has been offering quality supports and services for adults and children living with disability for over 50 years.

Warrah is a vibrant community, enriching the lives of individuals through our broad range of services, which include Supported Independent Living (SIL), Community Support Services (CSS) and Warrah Specialist School.

We also have a certified Biodynamic Farm and Farm Shop.

We are looking for a qualified school teacher to join our team at Warrah Specialist School. We offer a caring and supportive community that provides quality and individualised education for students with disabilities. This position includes face-to-face teaching, lesson planning, and involvement in school meetings, events and school professional activities.


We seek an experienced tertiary qualified teacher who aligns with our Rudolf Steiner philosophy and is committed to delivering individual education plans to our students.

Our curriculum is based around an outdoor learning environment and academic learning is fostered through a range of traditional arts and crafts, including woodwork, weaving, music and drama; and other programs including cooking, gardening and farming.


Warrah Specialist School is a small school set in a rural property amidst other adult services for people with a disability.

We teach students from K - 12 complying with all NSW Board of Studies requirements.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Essential & Preferred Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Education
  • 2+ years teaching experience
  • Experience in empowering and supporting people with intellectual disabilities and special needs
  • Ability to listen and learn with the students to plan, organise and deliver individualised services and activities based on the individual's needs, interests, wishes and abilities
  • Ability to work in a changing environment with a commitment to bringing the best education to the students
  • Commitment to support the rights, interests and the needs of people with disabilities in education
  • Knowledge and willingness to learn about and engage with Warrah's Mission, Values and the principles of Rudolf Steiner's Curative Education
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn and fulfill the requirements of the NSW Board of Studies and Steiner Education Australia Curriculum
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal, communication and documentation skills and the capacity to build and maintain relationships and trust
  • Demonstrates empathy, discretion, professionalism, and a willingness to try new things
  • Ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively to achieve individual and team requirements
  • A current NSW driver's license and a current First Aid Certificate are preferred
  • NDISWC and WWCC
  • Proficient in the use of computers and IT
  • An ability to work both as part of a cooperative team and also independently
  • Experience and passion for gardening/horticulture stream of learning will be an advantage
