The Department
The Patient and Family Services Social work Department operates in accordance with the philosophy and goals of The Alfred. A focus on the quality of life and participation in care is a primary goal of the Department.
The Role
The Weekend Social Work Team is a dynamic Social work team that is responsible for the provision of social work services to patients and their families/significant others at Alfred Health.
Advanced Information technology skills and an advanced understanding of working within an Electronic medical record is also crucial.
You will be required to consult with staff, both Social Workers and those from other disciplines, on issues relevant to patient care and provide casework expertise.
This role will work across the Social work department.This role is casual weekend role and we are currently looking for staff available to work weekends in particular at either The Alfred Emergency Department and or general wards, Caulfield Hospital or Sandringham Hospital.
Skills and Qualifications Required
- Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Bachelor of Social Work, or recognised equivalent.
- Experience in an acute or subacute hospital setting is preferable.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and with families, exhibiting initiative and facilitative qualities.
- Location: this position may be required to work at any or all campuses of the Alfred Health as and when required.
