Your new role As Manager Network Innovation & Demand Management, you will play a pivotal role in driving Ausgrid's network and demand management innovation agenda, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives and delivering value for both Ausgrid and the communities we serve.

You will strategically lead a team in the delivery of network innovation and demand management solutions to enable the modernisation of Ausgrid's network, leveraging CER and emerging technologies, to drive the business's strategic direction.

This includes industry-wide stakeholder engagement during the development and implementation phase, and following realisation of benefits of these initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include the following: Strategic Leadership Lead the development of network and demand management innovation solutions that demonstrate value over the short and long term.

Provide strategic direction to a team of specialists to ensure high-quality business outcomes aligned with evolving business needs.

Champion the development of capabilities in options analysis, risk evaluation, and treatments for changes to business practices and network standards.

Drive the development of Ausgrid's network innovation and demand management strategy to modernise the grid and drive value for customers.

Transform Ausgrid's network technology strategy and demand response products to unlock value for customers, stakeholders, and shareholders.
Foster a culture of innovation that embodies Ausgrid's values and engages with industry developments to adapt our direction.

Emerging Technology and Process Improvement Develop and manage effective network and demand management innovations, leveraging existing knowledge and best practice.

Maximise commercial performance by leading the development of a demand management plan to defer capital expenditure and increase cost recovery.

Lead the investigation and development of demand management alternatives to increase network utilisation.

Governance of Innovation Initiatives Manage a governance approach to develop, assess, deploy, and monitor initiatives across various groups, including external stakeholder committees.

Consult with internal and external stakeholders to develop network innovation and demand management solutions that improve network performance and customer outcomes.

Review initiative proposals and business cases for alignment with organisational objectives, ensuring accurate capture of benefits and costs.

Stakeholder Management Represent the business at industry peak bodies to collaborate on policies and industry approaches to leverage technology and industry innovation.

Work cooperatively with key stakeholders to improve the effectiveness of network technology and demand management change.

To be successful, you will be qualified/experienced in the following: Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, or another closely-related discipline Demonstrated management experience in technology and innovation strategies, with a focus on customer outcomes Understanding of asset management principles, particularly in the electricity industry, including commercial considerations and risk management Proficiency in business case development, including creativity in conceptualisation, needs analysis, and program development Knowledge of safety management principles related to electricity distribution network assets Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, nationally and internationally Ability to take a strategic view of network innovation, customer behavior, and research priorities to develop and execute business objectives Proven leadership experience in managing diverse, high-performing teams with a culture of accountability and outcomes Skilled in facilitating consultation with internal and external stakeholders, reaching consensus for approval and implementation Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office and related systems Strong organisation, prioritisation, decision-making, and time management skills, especially in dealing with rapidly changing priorities Attention to detail and personal initiative to drive significant change agendas Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality with sensitive matters Demonstrated experience in strategy or innovation development with significant weighting of experience in the electricity distribution industry Post Graduate Degree in Business or another commercial related discipline Knowledge of customer and electricity network technologies Experience with key regulatory stakeholders such as AER, IPART, AEMO, Federal and NSW Government Departments Experience working with industry experts via national and international industry working groups or other collaborations such as CIGRE, ISSC, ENA committees, working groups and other industry forums Grow with Ausgrid To continue building on our rich heritage, we actively invest in our people's development through secondments, onsite training, mentoring circles, e-learning, Australian Graduate School of Management programs (UNSW) and study assistance.
