Reporting directly to the CFO, your role will include:

  • Ensure Payroll team has appropriate processes and controls in place to support timely and accurate payment of payroll to employees
  • Ongoing compliance with Awards/EBAs and other legislative requirements
  • Team management
  • Provide input into budgeting and ad hoc financial modelling
  • Provide relevant and timely information to Operational Managers regarding workforce costs and other relevant observations
  • Take responsibility for projects and initiatives relating to Payroll as outlined in the annual Financial Management Team work plan, and as they arise
  • Develop a view of challenges and change opportunities within the payroll function, specifically to address current inefficiencies, risks and manual workarounds
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance, People & Culture, Rostering, IT and Operational teams
  • As the key contact with the vendor for the HRIS / Payroll system, proactively manage the relationship and ensure that the vendor meets contractual and service requirements
  • Continuously explore ways in which payroll systems and processes can be improved

The Successful Applicant:

We are seeking strategic leaders who have a passion for process improvement and change management.

The organisation is currently looking at implementing a new payroll system so we are targeting someone who would be interested in being involved in the tender process and subsequent implementation.

Communication skills, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage up will be critical in the role.
