What You Will Be Doing:

Peninsula Health has an opportunity for an experienced and person-centered General Practitioner with expertise in providing alcohol and drug treatment. This role involves conducting medical assessments and facilitating access to treatment programs for individuals with drug and alcohol dependencies.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver drug and alcohol treatment to patients enrolled in the Opioid Agonist Treatment Program.

What You Need:

  • Medical Practitioner Registered in Australia
  • Fellowship of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or (equivalent)
  • Relevant specialist experience in managing substance use disorders
  • Solid clinical knowledge, skills, and experience in modern medical practices
  • Ability to function effectively within a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Authorized to prescribe methadone and buprenorphine-based opioid agonist therapy for more than ten patients

*Please refer to the Victorian Public Health Sector - Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement for salary details. Salary grading will be determined by years of experience.
