The Position

The Technical Officer will support engineering activity through a supervising Engineer or Senior Technical Officer (STO) by providing technical services and assisting with implementing solutions across all technical areas.

This role is responsible for:

In conjunction with a Senior Technical Officer or supervising Engineer, the successful applicant will assist with the following activities:

  • Coordinate and perform final integration and test of production systems.
  • Liaise with production to ensure that products are being built to engineering specifications.
  • Provide guidance where necessary on assembly and testing procedures.
  • Create and maintain technical reports, documents and literature.
  • Install equipment on client sites and perform other related field work as well as support the installation work done.
  • Diagnose and solve problems across a broad range of issues which could be either hardware or software related and occurred from design to installation

Essential

  • Associate Diploma in Electronics (TAFE) or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Ability to understand complex electronic systems
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Experience in producing technical documentation and instructions / reports
  • Experience in system fault finding
  • Intermediate level of general technical skills

Eligibility

To be eligible for this position you must be:

  • An Australian Citizen
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance - Negative Vetting 1

The successful candidate MUST be able to obtain a clearance prior to commencement.
