The Role As Head of Planning, you will build and manage all business planning activities including development and implementing business plans, conducting financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting to maximise profitability by ensuring that they have the right product, in the right quantities, at the right time and in the right store as well as identifying opportunities for growth and improvement across all brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the

OTB:
Ensure forecasts are correct and optimum stock levels are maintained

Produce buying plans:
Driving analysis to prepare range strategies, option plans by product group/range/price point and order quantities

Location planning:
Manage store grading, ranging and target stock levels

  • Reviewing store performance and taking action accordingly

Promotional planning:
Recommend promotions that optimise sales and drive areas of the business that are under pressure

Analysis:
Preparing weekly/monthly reporting and recommendations including post seasonal reviews

Relationship management:
Ensure strong communication with owners, marketing, VM, finance and operations to review strategies and manage change

Markdown management:
Analysing performance to determine markdowns, and adjusting the planned markdowns in the OTB if required

People management:
Manage, train and develop merchandise planning team ensuring capability to deliver on current and future plans Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in a senior merchandise planning role within a multi-brand company
  • Proven ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships to drive business
  • Product / brand orientation with strong knowledge of fashion industry and benchmarks
  • Expert knowledge of merchandise planning, allocation, replenishment and financial planning systems, tools and reporting
  • Demonstration of leadership and talent development skills
  • Ability to negotiate and influence effectively
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proven track record in managing a business to achieve financial targets
  • Ability to review and develop financial modeling on new business opportunities
