Grampians Health Ballarat is a major training site for the University of Melbourne and Deakin Rural Clinical Schools. Senior staff are strongly committed to teaching and the professional development of Interns, HMOs and Registrars.

About the role
Consultant Anaesthetist will undertake pre and post-operative care, to patients of Grampians Health Ballarat. This includes performing a share of on-call duties and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Provide specialist anaesthetic services.
  • Manage the full range of paediatric, adult & obstetric patients.
  • Participate in clinical research projects.
  • Undertake the supervision of Anaesthetic Registrars, HMOs & Nursing staff.
  • Participating in the ongoing review of their Clinical Practice

Skills and experience

You will have:

  • Fellowship of ANZCA or equivalent and being registered as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • A medical degree registered with AHPRA.
  • Experience in anaesthetic service provision in a regional environment.
  • Experience in clinical anaesthetic care across a wide range of surgical specialties, including paediatrics and obstetrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with people at all levels
