Department Purpose:

The Advanced Delivery - Legal (ADL) efficiently handles aspects of large matters while upholding the high standards associated with A&O Shearman. Led by a seasoned partner and staffed with legal professionals and junior associates overseen by experienced managing and senior associates, the ADL collaborates with A&O Shearman offices globally on various document-related tasks, such as due diligence, litigation reviews, drafting, negotiating, and research. Emphasizing quality, supported by project management and workflow technology, ensures top-notch and efficient service delivery to clients.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Working on matters, offering specialized legal knowledge.
  • Identifying issues and drafting reports.
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts of moderate to advanced complexity.
  • Leading projects and teams.
  • Ensuring quality control of junior team members' work.
  • Training junior colleagues.
  • Conducting business development activities and presenting to clients.
  • Cultivating relationships with clients.
  • Continuously enhancing personal expertise and profile through client secondments.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience equivalent from an ALSP (not legally qualified).
  • Relevant professional environment experience.
  • Bonus points for specific finance or corporate law experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Adaptability and proactivity.
  • Display professionalism, exceptional judgment, commercial awareness, and critical thinking.
  • Detail-oriented with high self-motivation levels.
  • Ability to take ownership of work and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Skilled in building relationships, teamwork, credibility establishment, and client and colleague confidence building.
  • Demonstrate personal resilience with continuous self-challenge ambition.
  • High affinity with legal technology.
  • This is a full-time position.

Compensation Package:

We offer a competitive salary reflecting employees' skills, experience, and value they contribute to our team. The salary for this role ranges from $90,000 to $100,000.
