The Role R/GA Australia are looking for a talented and proactive Quality Assurance Engineer to join and help push the current Technology offering to the next level of excellence.

This role will work with the Technology Director and the broader project team across Australia to deliver a first class digital project for one of our largest clients

A Quality Assurance Engineer (QA Engineer) is part of the R/GA Technology team, a team of perpetual problem solvers who are always seeking new and innovative ways to help bring products and services to life.

A QA Engineer functions as a delivery-focused specialist and must partner with Experience Design, Product, Technology Leads, QA Leads and Senior Business Analysts to define and deliver solutions of high compliance and quality for our clients and do so in a disciplined and rigorous way.

On this project the focus is: Work with designers to review wireframes and designs to ensure they fulfil feature and accessibility requirements which account for different scenarios and edge cases.

Partner closely with other QA engineers to ensure that acceptance criteria of user stories is being properly met and verified throughout the development process.

Carry out regular release reviews with artefacts, enforce testing best practices, test coverage and security testing.

Perform hands-on test execution and automation to enable Tech Leads or Software Engineers in the team to get tasks done and proactively work with the team to resolve any blockers.

Enforce clear, cohesive, comprehensive and well-written technical testing documentation at all times, in-code files and external documentation (diagrams, technical design document, technical approach, summary deckware) that will be shared with different internal and external stakeholders.

Enforce security guidelines around test execution, documentation, non-disclosure agreements and client confidentiality at all times.
However, on any given day you might: Estimate work time and effort with precision.
Facilitate and proactively contribute towards value driven outcomes in an Agile environment.
Communicate clearly to the wider team progress, blockers, and goals.
Educate and inspire your peers and broader teams with emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools.
Educate and inspire non-technical team members around the use of testing tooling and modern methodologies.
Create user stories and define acceptance criteria to ensure we are delivering a complete solution against product requirements.

Work with visual and experience designers to review wireframes and designs and ensure they fulfil feature requirements and account for scenarios and edge cases.

Collaborate with project or wider Technology teams in performing evaluations against possible deployment and release schedules.

Partner closely with Tech Leads, QA Leads, BAs and Producers to ensure that acceptance criteria of user stories is being properly met and verified throughout the development process.

Work with the Technology Director and Engineering team to verify feasibility and quality assurance needs and dependencies around feature specs and product requirements.


The Ideal Person:
Quality Assurance Engineers must have demonstrable expertise in large-scale development, leading teams and managing client interaction.
Candidates must have strong experience with implementing the overall QA strategyprevious consulting, product or agency experience strongly preferred.
Executes testing of new/updated processes, including the selection/creation of relevant scenarios for testing that reflect realistic operational business conditions, to meet customer needs and optimise quality outcomes
Ensures tests and results are documented, reported to key stakeholders and are accessible for specification of user instructions to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and usability of systems and/or products
Proactively highlights issues and risks identified during testing to business stakeholders to inform decision making and mitigation strategies

Enables QA leads and peers to coordinate and manage the planning of the system and/or acceptance tests within service provider onboarding or service transition to ensure the delivery of fit for purpose solutions.

Supports the delivery team and the Product Owner in prioritising bugs based on their severity and impact.

Delivers the integrity and execution of testing and acceptance activities, including all test processes such as test plans, resources, costs, timescales, test deliverables and traceability, to meet business objectives and ensure quality outcomes.

Provides expert advice in service validation and testing to ensure quality outcomes for the business and customers
Has strong oral and written communication skills, and can convey information in a clear and concise manner
Has excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Is well versed in design process and collaborating with creatives/designers
Is comfortable working within design/prototyping tools such as figma, sketch, invision, whimsical, zeplin and others to reference designs and provide annotations
Ability to handle multiple, complex projects in a deadline-driven environment
Is outspoken and highly collaborative, acting as an active participant in shaping the culture and ways of working for cross-functional teams

What you must have:
Excellent test management and text execution skills and a positive attitude
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and handle and prioritise simultaneous requests.
Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of the organisation
Ability to critically evaluate and prioritise information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts
Expert level experience developing mock APIs to test integration services using RESTful Web services and 3rd party APIs
Expert level experience developing test execution plans with modern front-end frameworks (React, Type Script, Next JS S etc.)
Excellent knowledge with writing detailed test strategies incl.
plans, test cases in Azure Dev Ops
Expert level experience implementing test plans for responsive and adaptive web solutions.
Excellent knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, good SEO and performance criteria.
Knowledge of working in Azure Cloud platform

Good level experience with modern server-side programming languages such as Type Script, , Node JS, and Graph QL (for APIs).

Good knowledge of test management, test plans and test execution for Headless CMS platforms such as Hy Graph
Good knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment processes and tools specifically on Azure Dev Ops
Very proficient in managing tickets via Azure Dev Ops
Proven experience with performance testing.

What you may additionally have:
Experience with government related work / projects.
Experience working with remote teams (city to city / country to country).
Experience working with enterprise CMS solutions such as Sitecore or similar.
ISTQB Foundation or ISTQB Advanced certification.
Knowledge of omnichannel and multichannel test management strategies
Knowledge of conversational interfaces & technologies such as Voice Flow, Dialog Flow or equivalent solutions.
Experience working closely with designers, producers, tech engineers and business analysts.
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
You bring:4+ years' experience in a test & quality specialist position.
Constant learner and passion for your field.
English speaking and excellent communication skills.
Experience with Agile methodologies and tools
Previous experience working with cross-functional team
