An essential requirement to work with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) is to be an Australian citizen. If you don't meet the citizenship conditions for ADF service, we can't consider your application until you become a citizen.

Your Role:

As an Armoured Vehicle crew driver, you'll use night fighting equipment, communication systems, navigate terrain day and night, apply basic field craft, keep fit, and take part in dismounted operations.

Your duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Operate and maintain these impressive vehicles efficiently
  • Sustain radio and weapon systems, assist in minor vehicle power plant maintenance
  • Enhance mobility, communications, endurance, and combat effectiveness

Location:

Following basic military training, you may be assigned to various Army bases and units across Australia, with many positions in North QLD, QLD, VIC, and the NT.

Salary:

In the Army, you'll receive a competitive salary regardless of age, experience, or qualifications. Starting salary upon training will be about $54,815 annually plus 16.4% superannuation, increasing with training progression. Following training completion, the annual salary could reach $77,451 plus generous benefits.

Requirements:

To qualify, you must be an Australian citizen, aged over 17 at enlistment, and hold an equivalent of Australian Year 10 education with passes in English and Mathematics.
