Metro Trains Melbourne is currently looking to recruit for a

Safeworking Coordinator to support current projects across the

Western Program Alliance (WPA) as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP). Your initial project will be the Deer Park Station renewal and level crossings removal.


Your primary responsibility as the Safeworking Coordinator includes safeworking planning, implementation, control and the ultimate responsibility of rail safety during track works.

You'll forge close working relationship with all other members of the Occupation & Access Team, in order to meet the Project's objectives and keeping the worksite safe.


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Ensure all work in the rail corridor is compliant with the RTO procedures
  • Undertake site walks with Engineers, subcontractors and visitors
  • Review infield allocation of TFPC's to ensure efficiencies
  • Monitor fatigue management of all staff (project/alliance/contractor)
  • Provide clarification and interpretation on safe working rules
  • Mentor and develop Rail Safety/Safe Working role on site
  • Assist in the investigation of Rail Safety incidents and agreed implementations of actions
  • Participate in Occupation planning, delivery and lessons learnt
  • Provide track protection advice to construction teams
  • Assist with developing and delivering Rail Safety/OHS toolboxes and alerts

About You

  • Cat 1 medical


 MTM
  • RIW (Rail Industry Worker) associated roles
  • Basic Construction Industry OSH Conduction (White card)
  • Completion of 2 Rail Projects (across any network)
  • 12 years' experience in rail network and operations train running
