Mount Owen Glendell Operations (MGO) Mine located in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales, 20 kilometres north of Singleton, contains the Mt Owen, Ravensworth East and Glendell mines.
The integration of these operations enables all sites to use a single coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP) and infrastructure at Mt Owen Mine.
An exciting Job Share opportunity exists for an Environment and Community Officer to join a large open-cut coal operation in the Hunter Valley on 5 days per fortnight basis.
Reporting to the Environment and Community Manager and working within the MGO Complex E&C team, the primary purpose of our Environment and Community Officer is to assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the MGO Complex Environmental Management System.
Compliance monitoring, water management, audits, rehabilitation, offset management, cultural heritage and community engagement will also be key components of your role.
The requirements for success in this role include:
- Relevant experience in a similar role.
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science or engineering.
- Understanding of the environment and community aspects of the mining industry.
- Working knowledge of the NSW legislative requirements.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
