Allcare Youth Support Services, Victoria, is targeted at young people Aged 7 to 25 who have been diagnosed with a disability, who are NDIS eligible, and who are in need of support.

The business is expanding and we are therefore looking to recruit talented youth support workers to join the team


Our objective is to create long-lasting matches between youth support workers and young people which will enable them to develop their skills, identify and enjoy their hobbies and get involved in their community.

We focus on empowering young people to open their minds to new possibilities and make positive life choices.


This is an excellent opportunity for a calm, empathetic and experienced youth support worker who can act as a positive role model, who can connect with and build a friendship with a young person and who is committed to making a difference in a young person's life.

You must also be able to;

  • Support the independence and social participation of young person with a disability
  • Encourage a young person to reach their potential and pursue their goals through exercising choice and control and the planning and delivery of their supports
  • Encourage positive and socially appropriate behaviour, and effectively manage challenging behaviour
  • Respect a young person's dignity and right to privacy
  • Maintain positive relationships with parent/guardians and respect their confidentiality/privacy
  • Take reasonable care to ensure no risk of harm to self and others in the workplace. This includes immediately reporting any incidents, near miss, hazards and injuries
  • Respond to crisis within specified guidelines and seek assistance to situations outside of specified guidelines
  • Maintain regular contact with the NDIS Program Coordinator/supervisor
  • Complete case notes at the end of every shift
  • Participate in ongoing training and support meetings

Selection Criteria

  • Experience in a similar role is highly desirable
  • Minimum of Certificate in Youth Work, Certificate III in Disability, Mental Health, Mental Health Peer Work, or two years relevant experience
  • Current Level 2 First aid HLTAID003 and CPR certification
  • Ability to think laterally and manage challenging situations to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ability to work independently
  • A high level of customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, Right to work in Australia, Proof of Covid vaccination status according to government guidelines, or valid medical exemption, plus other onboarding documentation

Time Commitment

  • Available to work after school hours and/or on weekends
