About the School:

For over 150 years we have been teaching the students of Highfields and surrounding suburbs.

Our team of dedicated and experienced teachers and support staff strive to ensure all students are learning, achieving and thriving.

Role:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

  • Supporting students with various complex learning needs, complex behaviours and complex medical needs
  • Supporting students from a range of backgrounds
  • Supporting students with toileting, if the need arises.
  • Supporting students in and out of the classroom, including during PGD
  • Small group work and 1:1 support to access the curriculum
  • Supporting Students with Social/Emotional needs
  • Knowledge of using the MiniLit and MacqLit Program preferrable
An Ideal applicant would have prior experience working in this area and would have the following attributes:

  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently with a group of students
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow the guidance of teachers.
  • Willingness to adapt to the specific needs of each student & maintain a positive attitude
  • Applicants need to demonstrate an understanding of inclusive education practices and skills that align with DoE's vision of Equity and Excellence.
