Job Description

Mercure Melbourne Doncaster is on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Chief Engineer to spearhead our Engineering Department.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Chief Engineer will oversee the entire engineering operations of the hotel's systems, plant, and equipment.

Supervising the team members of the department and ensuring efficient utilization of the budget are crucial to delivering exceptional guest experiences for both you and the hotel.

Among key responsibilities is ensuring compliance with Australian building regulations, driving hotel environmental and sustainability efforts, upholding Mercure Brand Standards, and preserving the hotel's assets.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, you should have the following qualities (among others):

  • Proven experience in a Chief Engineer position;
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant rules and regulations;
  • Strong administrative skills with keen attention to detail;
  • Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills;
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities; and
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts (including weekends and nights).
