Our assets are situated among the world's best-known operating mines, infrastructure and proven economic resources. We are undertaking extensive exploration efforts within our holdings, identifying new deposits of premium coals in the basin as well as investing heavily in groundbreaking Highwall Mining Technology. Our HWM300 Highwall Miner equipment will be arriving in Australia this year and will be the first of its kind in Australia.

The Role

We are currently seeking an Experienced ROM Operator / Supervisor to join our high performing team. This role is based primarily at a nearby operating mine site supervising the haulage operations. This is a varied hybrid role working alongside a great team. You will be required to provide additional duties when required, such as escorting and operating equipment. We currently deliver coal to a variety of mine sites and we need someone who is resilient and can adapt to changing circumstances.

Roster

The position is offered on a 7:7 roster with periodic travel to other mine sites as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage activities at the destination mine ROM, inclusive of stockpile management, operating plant and equipment and supervision of other employees, staff and contractors on the ROM.
• Oversee haulage truck loading operations being conducted by the haulage contractor and provide supervisory and operational support as required.
• Ensuring that continuity of access is maintained for coal haulage trucks at destination ROMs.
• Where appointed as a supervisor at a destination mine site, comply with all relevant SHMS requirements, including reporting lines for relevant activities.
• Engage with various stakeholders (including geologists, processing engineers and others) to ensure the companies coal production specifications and volumes are met.
• Liaise with the Chief Operating Officer, SSE, Manager Coal Preparation and other senior leadership personnel from customers to develop and maintain best practice operations on the ROM.
• Provide supervisory and operational support to the destination site mining contractor as required, particularly to ensure coal mining activities align with company expectations.
• Optimise the operation on the ROM and supporting tasks to ensure budget targets are achieved.
• Load, operate and maintain ROM equipment.
• Comply with and maintain environmental, safety and health, and organisational standards and requirements for operations.

• Operate, inspect and maintain ROM equipment, including mobile plant, and coal processing plant as may be in use.
• Supervise ROM operators, giving direction and providing supervisory support to ensure the site coal processing and logistics targets are met.
• Monitor and maintain environmental, safety and health, and organisational standards and requirements.

• S123 & G2
• Driver License
• RIIMPO304E – Conduct Wheel Loader Operations
• Proof of right to work in Australia
• Commitment to Safety
• RIIVEH302E – Operate Multi Combination Vehicle
• RIIVEH0326E – Conduct Water Vehicle Operations

Other Requirements

• May be required to complete background screening which may include a criminal check and validation of qualifications.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening.
