What role you will play in our team:

Reporting to the Commercial Operations, Analytics and Regulatory Manager, you will be part of a team supporting wholesale gas and natural gas liquids marketing activities.

You will also support business development personnel engaged in low carbon opportunities via market and economic analysis.

Office-based role in ExxonMobil's Docklands office in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

What you will do:

  • Develop wholesale gas pricing recommendations for gas supply contracts
  • Perform market analysis of wholesale gas markets in east coast Australia and Western Australia
  • Undertake economic analysis of gas projects and other commercial opportunities
  • Interface with supply chain personnel (gas production planning and operations) to determine quantities of gas that can be made available for sale
  • Monitor and analyse facilitated gas markets
  • Engage with gas market infrastructure providers (pipeline, storage providers)
  • Interact with gas trading and gas contract negotiating personnel

About you:

Skills and Qualifications

  • At a minimum undergraduate degree
  • At least 3 years of professional experience
  • The right to work in Australia (Australian citizen or permanent resident, New Zealand citizen)

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Engineering degree preferred
  • Ideally holding undergraduate engineering degree and holding or in process of obtaining graduate or postgraduate commercial qualifications (eg Commerce / Finance / Accounting / MBA)
  • More than 5 years of professional experience an advantage
  • Experience in oil and gas or adjacent industries an advantage
  • Supply chain experience an advantage
  • Direct experience in East Coast Australia wholesale gas markets an advantage
