Our Project & Development Services (PDS) business line, has a key role in managing and delivering hundreds of capital works projects across Australia.


We are now seeking a Safety Advisor to join a leading practice that operates in each mainland capital of Australia as part of a coordinated national service, ensuring that JLL will successfully deliver outstanding projects.

The role will be a 12-Month Fixed-Term contract to cover a Maternity Leave.

What this opportunity involves:


As the Safety Advisor, you will provide HSE advice to line managers and to develop, maintain and promote corporate policies and procedures that create a healthy and safe workplace for Jones Lang LaSalle employees (within the Project Development and Services Division) and their sub-contractors.


An Overview of the role:

  • Review current practices and look for innovative solutions to common HSE risk that have a significant impact on PDS operations
  • Develop and maintain the PDS's internal HSE procedures, policies and corporate and project safety and environmental systems in line with best practice and the relevant statutory legislation.
  • Facilitate and/or conduct risk management workshops, risk assessments and preliminary hazard analysis for site based staff prior to project startup.
  • Organise, develop and deliver regular refresher training in Risk Management and HSE Management System Awareness for all PDS staff.
  • Undertake workplace audits and inspections to identify HSE hazards and unsafe and unhealthy workplace conditions and practices.
  • Report identified HSE hazards and appropriate risk control measures to line managers.
  • Review the circumstances of workplace injury, illness and dangerous occurrences and any corrective action implemented by line managers and provide guidance if required.
  • Followup on project based HSE risk assessments to ensure they are being followed and updated as necessary.
  • Act as an emergency/after hours contact person for all HSE related issues or incidents.
  • Advise line managers of changes to HSE legislation, codes of practice etc.
  • Identify, develop and facilitate the delivery of appropriate HSE training programs.

  • Extensive experience in providing HSE advice to line managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer HSE knowledge to operational staff and managers and provide effective training, coaching and mentoring to staff.
  • Capacity to maintain a high degree of discretion and exercise sound judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Strong organisational skills, the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking with strong communication, consultation and facilitation skills.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the principles of HSE, EEO and ethical practice.
  • Advanced understanding of National and State HSE and Workers compensation legislation.
  • Formal qualifications in WHS, Environment and/or Sustainability
