Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive and engaging training programs in civil construction, including theoretical and practical instruction.
  • Design curriculum and course materials that align with industry standards and requirements.
  • Provide handson demonstrations and practical exercises to enhance students' understanding of construction techniques, equipment operation, and safety practices.
  • Assess student performance and progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of student attendance, grades, and course evaluations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure course content remains relevant and current.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry professionals to continuously improve the course curriculum and delivery methods.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and promotes teamwork.
  • Mentor and support students, providing career guidance and assisting with job placement opportunities

Requirements:

  • Certification in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in civil construction, including expertise in areas such as site preparation, earthwork, foundations, utilities, and road construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Previous experience in teaching or training, preferably in a vocational or technical education setting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to students of varying skill levels.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and instructional technology for course delivery and assessment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment that adheres to industry standards and regulations.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
