As a key player in driving PayPal Australia Pty. Ltd's Risk and Compliance Management Program, this leadership role oversees regulatory requirements with a data-driven approach. The focus is on aligning with both the global PayPal framework and local regulations.

Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, this position calls for an experienced leader in Risk Management and Compliance who can demonstrate strong technical skills, strategic judgment, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Collaboration with various business lines, functions, and stakeholders within Australia and globally is essential.

The successful candidate must lead a team in alignment with PayPal's vision, mission, and values while maintaining a deep understanding of the company's business model and culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee PPAU's execution of the Enterprise Risk and Compliance Management framework
  • Use risk assessment and indicators for real-time risk insights
  • Support the CRO on Regulatory & Board interactions
  • Guide business partners in developing controls for critical processes
  • Contribute to board presentations and Risk Management Committee materials
  • Collaborate with the Global Risk & Compliance team
  • Identify and resolve areas of operational risk
  • Provide expertise in risk identification, assessment, and management
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations
  • Support policy drafting and execution of regulatory initiatives
  • Align risks with frameworks and prioritize risk mitigation
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders and executives

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in financial institutions, risk management, and compliance
  • Demonstrated leadership in risk frameworks
  • Global experience in working with shared services
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Problem-solving and operational expertise
  • Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments
  • Excellent presentation and project management abilities
  • High energy and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
  • Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive projects
