Risk Manager to support the Senior Manager Asset & Risk Strategy to implement the Greater Sydney Parklands (GSP) Risk Management Framework by working with GSP Directorates, Managers and staff to provide critical advice and support to manage their risks and the effectiveness of their control environments.


This newly created exciting role is pivotal to delivering initiatives to build risk management and resilience awareness and maturity within GSP.

Key accountabilities

  • Coordinate and lead the development, implementation and embedding of comprehensive risk management and work health and safety support systems, including the establishment and implementation of systems, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Support the Senior Manager in establishing, influencing and managing stakeholder relationships and coordinating a network of key risk practitioners or champions throughout GSP, while providing specialist advice and information to Directorates, Managers and staff and assisting GSP stakeholders to improve risk management information quality and consistency, provide insights, and challenge risk assessments and assumptions as necessary.
  • Plan and facilitate risk assessment workshops and risk reviews, and support participants to identify effective solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate the regular analysis, review and updating of GSP risk to facilitate the management of risks and support the review and updating of business continuity plans and related processes as required.
  • Coordinate the periodic review of risk maturity across GSP to inform the design and implementation of continuous improvement programs.
  • Coordinate and implement a range of WHS initiatives including the GSP WHS Training Matrix and supporting the GSP WHS Committee.
  • Prepare quality and informative written reports and briefs, and coordinate GSP risk reporting for a range of executive audiences including the GSPT Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee (ARCC) and GSPT Board.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Extensive experience developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on risk assessments and risk improvement programs
  • Demonstrated experience is managing risk related data, and preparing Executive level risk reports

Essential requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant experience with risk management frameworks and approaches.
  • Current Australian driver's license and capability to travel to and attend work at any site within the GSP portfolio
