Play a key role in building a community sports platform

We are looking for a talented Technical Leader to lead our streamer platform development team.

This role involves building and leading an Agile team, mentoring and coaching them to deliver quality products, while still being hands on.

This role works with mobile, web and AWS technologies in a mature DevOps environment.

To deliver value you would employ your technical expertise to translate the vision and user stories into technical designs and implement solutions.

Seven West Media is a dynamic and evolving business, in the past few years our Product and Technology team has built entire websites and products from the ground up and made a significant impact to the business and ways of working within the business.


The Opportunity:


We are looking for a talented Tech Lead or Senior Developer ready to lead our Streamer development team to create and maintain this codebase.

Streamer is a community focused platform, giving the community tools to watch or setup their own live streaming programs, currently featuring AFL, hockey, surfing, volleyball and more.


As a Tech Lead you will having your finger on the pulse with the latest software and agile practices and have a passion for working on large and often complex solutions.

You will need to be solution-orientated while mentoring and coaching your team to deliver value and quality products.

You'll get to work with a tech stack which services high volume traffic, and a team which ships to production multiple times a day on serverless infrastructure.

This in itself requires great infrastructure and software, it's not easy, but the skills we've gained are invaluable and transferrable.

Not to mention the people on our team come from many different industries and all contribute something unique.

The tasks which you will be responsible for include:

  • Develop code with the backing of a mature CI/CD platform that has branch deploys
  • Write infrastructure code alongside the actual code that runs the services/products
  • Company wide open source policy allowing open source contribution and release of code as an open source package
  • Ability to blog about work publicly, opportunity to build personal profile using problems solved at work
  • Using a wide range of AWS services in production, including Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, ECS, all deployed using infrastructure as code (using Pulumi).
  • TypeScript throughout all and projects
  • GitHub for source control / collaboration with GitHub actions for CI
  • Merge to master deploys to production automatically
  • Facilitate technical design workshops
  • Be a part of the leadership team driving our vision and progress forward

About You

  • 5+ Years' experience working in software development
  • Be independent and goal orientated in your work
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and a positive mindset
  • Strong knowledge in React.

  • Having a keen interest in community sports would be advantageous
