About the Role

Consunet are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineering Manager or Senior Systems Engineer looking for that next opportunity to provide Systems Engineering governance, support and oversight to projects and the organisation. This role will play an integral part in supporting our business growth by identifying effort and resources required for current and future projects, and ensuring engineering best practices are promoted and executed.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
  • Implement and maintain Consunet's Systems Engineering management processes in alignment with Consunet's Agile delivery methodology.
  • Provide Engineering governance support to the organisation and projects.
  • Implement and maintain effective requirements practices including use and continuous improvement of requirements definition processes.
  • Provide oversight to tailoring of Consunet System Engineering processes to meet project requirements.
  • Manage key artefact templates to facilitate systems engineering process capture.
  • Assist the development of a team of project manager(s), engineers, and other specialists to deliver Consunet projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide Systems Engineering oversight of systems analysis and design activities as critical input to systems implementation across projects.
  • Provide guidance to systems and software engineers in:
    • requirements analysis and allocation,
    • system design implementation and assessment of trade-offs,
    • system qualification (integration & test, verification & validation),
    • system certification, and
    • ensuring appropriate review of engineering artefacts produced by the engineering team.
  • Support Consunet projects by managing requirements and specifications including:
    • oversight of management of Consunet's systems and software, and
    • ensuring system, product, and project/client baselines are maintained.
  • Support Project Management including:
    • developing project schedules (Work Breakdown Structures) and resource plans to realise Consunet system/product/client deliverables.
  • Support Quality Management including:
    • ensuring Consunet policies, procedures, work instructions, forms and templates adequately support the Consunet Engineering Management System.
  • Support the organisation in tender preparation and development activities as required.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
  • Relevant Engineering Degree with at least 10+ years' experience.
  • Experience with using the ASDEFCON Standard.
  • Customer and Product end user-focussed attitude and experience working in an environment oriented towards meeting customer requirements and outcomes.
  • Experience providing technical rigour and oversight on the development and maintenance of engineering artefacts throughout the engineering lifecycle. This includes activities and documentation associated with requirements definition and management, traceability, system architecture, system design capture, engineering change, verification and validation, and sustainment.
  • Experience developing and implementing systems engineering processes.
  • Experience proactively identifying and addressing engineering risks.
  • Experience mentoring other Systems Engineers and technical staff on Systems Engineering practices, including working closely with Project Engineering team Leads.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in the application of Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in Project Management.
