Your Opportunity:


As the Principal Enterprise Bargaining Advisor, you will provide authoritative advice and services to senior managers and clients of the department on employee and industrial relations matters associated with enterprise bargaining and implementation of agreements.

Technical expertise, mentorship, navigation of complex relationships and pivoting in your performance and delivery models will determine your success in this role.


About the Role:


You will be reporting to the Manager Enterprise Bargaining providing expert technical advice and high-level consultative, representative and enterprise bargaining services to support our stakeholders.

You will be partnering with the broader team and working closely with, and supporting, other advisors.

The team focuses on the delivery of services to ensure compliance with industrial relations legislation in relation to making certified agreements and managing implementation of those agreements.

With the increase in demand for experienced practitioners in this speciality, this opportunity to work in a large and multi-disciplinary department is open to professionals seeking to consolidate their experience by working in a highly specialised team.


You will be responsible for:

  • Provide expert advice and services to managers on employee and industrial relations matters including interpretation of legislation, industrial instruments, policies, systems and practices.
  • Contribute to the ongoing coordination and promotion of highquality employee and industrial relations services and solutions in a large and complex organisation.
  • Undertake research and analysis of employee and industrial relations matters for purposes of enterprise bargaining and related activities.
  • Participate in consultation and negotiations with key stakeholders, departmental work units, professional associations and other public sector agencies.
  • Develop, and evaluate departmental policy and procedures related to enterprise bargaining matters.
  • Lead and oversee projects with a specific focus on industrial relations outcomes associated with enterprise bargaining.
  • Draft submissions, correspondence and briefing notes for manager approval on matters relating to industrial relations matters associated with enterprise bargaining.
  • Establish and maintain networks and liaise with officers from other agencies, unions and other external bodies to promote and monitor contemporary employee and industrial relations matters.

There are no mandatory requirements for the role however relevant tertiary qualifications will be well regarded.
