To continue our success, we are looking for an experienced
Commercial Partner who will provide commercial support to BMT Operating Units in Australia.

This role will be a broad role to act as the initial point of contact for commercial matters in Australia and linking with the wider Commercial Team for additional support, complex matters or to support other commercial team members.


Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Provide commercial support and guidance to bidding, contractual and other commercial matters.
  • Drafting and negotiation of contracts ranging from supplier contracts through to customer contracts.
  • Supporting the Operating Units on commercial issues that arise post contract signature.
  • Being a key member of the wider Commercial Team and acting as the local ambassador for the Commercial Team.
  • Support and enable the Operating Units and key stakeholders with their business strategy to drive the business forward in line with the longterm vision.
  • Provide commercial support and guidance to bidding, contractual and other commercial matters.
  • Managing key commercial processes locally such as the Bid Assessment Form and the associated training, guidance, and administration.
  • Drafting and negotiation of contracts ranging from supplier contracts through to customer contracts in accordance with the BMT Contract Principles and BMT's delegation matrix.
  • Supporting the Operating Units on commercial issues that arise post contract signature such as disputes, payment issues, and completion of the contract.
  • Support and enable the Operating Units and key stakeholders with their business strategy to drive the business forward in line with their strategies.

You will have:

  • Extensive experience in contract and commercial agreement negotiation and management,
  • Strong records and document management for customers, vendors, and external suppliers.
  • Knowledge of Government, Mining, Oil and Gas contracting industry preferable.
  • Ability to analyse and make recommendations to modify terms & conditions, including identification of commercial risk within terms and identifying/ recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Experience with post contract signature work such as assisting with payment issues, disputes, and contract completion.
  • Detailed understanding of contract law and management
  • Experience with constructing consulting and contractor agreements.
  • Effectively build and maintain relationships internal & external instilling trust and confidence with customers and partners, at all levels of the business.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
