The Role
The Data Governance Analyst will establish data governance frameworks, policies, procedures and processes to ensure the quality, integrity, and security of Council's data assets. The Data Governance Analyst will play a critical role in promoting data-driven decision-making, regulatory compliance, and effective data management practices.

*This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full-time basis

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Develop and implement a enterprise wide data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures.

• Define and communicate data governance roles, responsibilities, and accountability across the organisation.

• Champion and promote the Data Information Governance Advisory Group (DIGAG), collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation.

• Define data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring mechanisms to assess and improve data integrity.

• Establish data validation and verification procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency of data across systems.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance-related matters and provide guidance to business units.

• Monitor and ensure compliance with data governance policies, regulations, and industry standards and conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of data governance controls and processes.

You will have:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, or a related field (relevant experience may be considered).

• Extensive knowledge and experience in data governance and data management practices.

• Extensive knowledge of data governance frameworks, principles, and best practices.

• Knowledge and experience with data quality management, data classification, and data privacy regulations.

• Knowledge of data management technology tools such as data warehousing, data management tools and data integration platforms.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

• Knowledge and understanding of relevant data governance standards and frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DMBOK) is desirable.

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $97,993 (Grade H, Step % super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
