About the role


The Standards Development's Team Leader primary duty is to manage a team of Project Managers for the delivery of standards development solutions and services using the agreed project management methodology.


What you'll do

  • Leadership capability emulated through mentoring, coaching and supervision of 610 direct reports at an expert level
  • Drive team performance to ensure the effective delivery of projects and publications
  • Drive team performance to deliver high level of customer service to all SA's stakeholders
  • Ensure direct reports are accountable for allocated projects
  • Lead regular team meetings and monthly KPI and performance discussions with direct reports
  • Ensure compliance to organisational policies such as OHS, EEO and other operational procedures
  • Responsible for the assigned portfolio and monitors the delivery of projects from start to completion
  • Actively monitors all committee programs of work to agreed deliverables (time frame, risk, scope and quality)
  • Coach Project Managers in managing and implementing strategies for projects that are at risk of or have exceeded agreed timelines
  • Promote collaboration across multiple internal departments to ensure a common vision and path to success
  • Take ownership of key business strategy initiatives and drive departmental change
  • Actively participate in strategic and operational projects as required
  • Contribute to monthly management reports, as required and within agreed time frames

About you

  • Degree or equivalent postsecondary qualification in an appropriate discipline. Preferably qualified as a project professional (e.g. PMP, MPM)
  • This job requires previous and relevant people and process management skills in a team environment
  • Project leadership experience
  • Experience with technology as an enduser (e.g. Web conferencing tools, project tools & MS products such as Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, CRM & resource management tools)
