the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 202- To ensure the successful operational delivery of the ninth edition of this competition, we have set up a Local FIFA Subsidiary (LFS).

Its aim is to improve the experience of over 1.1 billion people watching the FIFA Women's World Cup, by delivering innovative solutions across all operational areas.

Job responsibilities

  • The Events & Ceremonies Coordinator will be responsible, under the guidance of the Events & Ceremonies Manager and in close collaboration with the FIFA Special Events division, for the successful delivery of the Events and Ceremonies Program in Australia which includes:
  • Pre-match Ceremonies
  • Inaugural Match Celebration, Australia
  • 3rd Place Presentation
  • Trophy & Awards Presentation
  • Closing Ceremony
  • Additional tournament related events in Australia
Your role as Events & Ceremonies Coordinator includes the following responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation and implementation of the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 Events & Ceremonies program within the scope defined by FIFA and FWWC202
  • Managing the delivery of Pre-match Ceremonies hosted in Australia.
  • Assisting in the planning and successful delivery of additional tournament time events in Australia.
  • Communicating and interacting with internal and external stakeholders: suppliers, venues, and local partners as well as concerned FIFA and FWWC2023 departments.
  • Ensuring a stateofthe art and culturally sensitive representation of the interests and messages of the Host Countries and FIFA, working closely with the Events and Ceremonies team in New Zealand to ensure a consistent approach.
  • Supporting with entity budget management for Events & Ceremonies.
  • Supporting the Events & Ceremonies Manager with procurement processes as required for the Events & Ceremonies program and in line with FWWC2023 procurement policies.
  • Coordinating the contracting process for selected Events & Ceremonies suppliers and service providers.
  • Assist the Events & Ceremonies Manager in scoping and planning the requirements at each venue in coordination with the Events & Ceremonies suppliers and service providers.
  • Preparing and developing the operational documents, such as operational plans, project plans and run sheets as required and aligned with the FIFA Special Events team and the FWWC2023 dedicated team based in Zurich.
  • Organising and participating in regular review, project team, status update meetings, including circulation of meeting agendas, creating meeting presentations and providing any action notes or minutes.
  • Supporting the Events & Ceremonies Manager in the management and training of the dedicated event time volunteer workforce.


The Events & Ceremonies Coordinator - Australia, will assume the role as Events & Ceremonies Coordinator for a Stadium in Sydney / Gadigal during the Tournament.
Based in Sydney.

Qualifications & experience

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in event management, ideally with experience or an interest in Ceremonies.
  • Experience in a major event/large scale event environment.
  • Knowledge of event planning and event project management processes.
  • Organised with proven experience undertaking administrative responsibilities.
  • Flexible and adaptive able to anticipate and adapt to changing requirements.
  • High level of competency with Microsoft programs and operating systems.
