About the Role:

The role is to ensure the provision of a high quality innovative educational program that meets the individual needs of the children aged from birth to 6 years and ensure that all interactions with the children are positive, respectful and friendly.

This is a permanent full-time position, working 8 hours shifts from Monday to Friday at Morrobe Street Children's Centre located in Heidelberg West. The successful candidate must be available to work a rotating roster between 6.45am to 6.15pm.

Skills, experience and certificates:

  • Successful completion of Certificate 3 or equivalent (Mandatory)
  • Current, recognised Level 2 First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate, with CPR updates completed within the last 12 months (Mandatory)
  • Awareness of cultural needs of families
  • Effective communication with families, professionals, and people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds
  • Conflict management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Driver's licence

Mandatory Pre-employment screenings:

  • COVID 19 vaccination certificate
  • Functional Capacity Assessment
  • Police Check
  • Criminal History Check- not more than 6 months old (Mandatory)
  • Working with Children's Check
